Screw Plug Mount Immersion Heaters

Screw plug immersion heaters screw through matching pipe couplings or direct into matching threaded openings in tank walls to mount.  They heat liquids and viscous fluids by direct contact and must be fully covered by your liquid to prevent heater failure. (Other medium applications are possible, but require factory consult.)

Most models include a thermowell to accommodate a temperature control sensor, and we offer models both with and without thermostat temperature control.  Models may have a general purpose, moisture-resistant, or explosion-resistant enclosure.

Regulated models may require a three-pole magnetic contactor (not included) - see individual product descriptions or contact us to discuss regulation needs and/or requirements.

Available Unregulated (No Thermostat) or Regulated (With Thermostat):

• 60°-250°F Thermostat Control: This is the default thermostat temperature range if you choose a regulated heater.

• Alternate Temperature Ranges Are Available (Contact Us!):

            ●  30°-110°F
            ●  200°-550°F

NOTE - Regulated Models Require A Magnetic Contactor (sold separately) Unless They Are Rated:

• ≤240V And Single-Phase With An Amperage Rating Of 25 Amps Or Less.

• INCOLOY® Sheath with Brass Screw Plug (Silver Brazed): These models, with 45-55 watt density (W/IN.²), are for use in clean water, some marine environments including brackish water and seawater with moderate to low currents, and select mildly corrosive liquids (absolutely no hydroxides, cyanides, or oxidizing acids).

• INCOLOY® Sheath with Stainless Steel Screw Plug (Nickel Brazed or Welded): These models, with 45-55 watt density (W/IN.²), are suitable for clean water and corrosive liquids, such as process water with less than 6% alkaline or acid content; up to 2% caustic solutions.  These models are also suitable for demineralized or deionized water.

• Copper Sheath with Brass Screw Plug (Silver Brazed): These models, with 39-66 watt density (W/IN.²), are for use in clean water.

• Steel Sheath with Steel Screw Plug (Nickel Brazed or Welded): These models, with 20-23 watt density (W/IN.²), are for use in oils.

• Ammonia Heaters: These heaters have a watt density ranging from 26-49 W/IN.² and are designed for heating ammonia (NH₃). They are made using steel sheath elements nickel brazed or welded into a steel 2" screw plug and have an explosion-resistant enclosure (also moisture-resistant and dust-proof).
